The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad

The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railroad owns a run-down single-track line that runs through my home town of Bedford, Ohio.  This little track has always attracted me.  In the face of the big trains that run on Norfolk Southern's parallel Cleveland Line, W&LE runs little trains that carry scrap metal and other miscellaneous freight through scenic, old-time-flavored sites.  Here's some of my shots of this line.

UPDATE: This line has been leased to the new Connotton Valley Railway. Cliff Perry, the general manager of Trolleyville, wanted to run passenger excursions between Bedford and Falls Junction. He went to the Wheeling, and they offered him the whole line! He leased GP-35 2652, and serves two freight customers during the week and runs excursions on the weekends.
